LEO New Moon

Expansive New Awareness

MOON meets the SUN at 8°LEO where Personal Rulership is key!

INNER meets the OUTER in the LEO Realm of Willpower as we continue to experience all kinds of Personal Revelations!

The constellation for this area of Leo is CRATER the beautifully adorned celestial cup symbolizing a tool for receptivity.

At this New Moon all awareness is on what we're receiving into our own receptive cup. The Sabian picture symbol for this degree:

GLASS-BLOWERS SHAPE WITH THEIR BREATH GLOWING FORMS.

When prana meets expanded inner mind substance, awareness of how things are shaped into existence occurs.

Additional action this Independence Day! Right along with the push for Inner Movement at the Moon/Mars meetup!

The constellation for this area of Leo is CRATER the celestial cup that sits upon the back of sea serpent HYDRA.

Mythology speaks to the energy of Leo in epic tale! APOLLO was viewed as the essence of the Sun in (human form).

Leo is ruled by the Sun. As the myths relay, Crater is the Cup of Apollo. One day, Apollo was thirsting for experience.

So he sends his power animal CORVUS the Crow with cup in tow, to fetch some water of conscious life experience.

But the Crow finds some fruit, soon to be ripe in a few days, so he spends the time waiting, only to stuff his own gullet.

Needing an alibi for his return with an empty cup, the crow grabs a snake to blame for blocking access to the water.

Apollo was wise to the ambitious Crow and knew his words to be untrue. On that day, crows lost their ability to speak.

Apollo places a Wise Owl, Receptive Cup, Ambitious Crow, and Creative Urge of a Snake in the heavens for all to see!

A permanent record so mankind can remember this common human struggle over the base instinct of selfish ambition.

Perhaps the CROW is very well suited for reflecting this natural instinct of the Outer Self; the energy of personal AMBITION.

As the story goes, crows were originally white. Quite symbolic of a time when the ambitions of man were truly pure.

The picture symbol for this degree reflects the old adage and modern country verse: "A little less talk, and a lot more action."

A FORMALLY DRESSED ELDERLY MAN STANDS NEAR TROPHIES FROM A HUNTING EXPEDITION.

A dignified outer representation of long standing wisdom reflects the idea that successes are gained through transformation of base instincts.
